Bank sync & open banking

Connect a bank and your balances and transactions go live — alongside the bills, subscriptions and renewal dates Yuki already reads from your inbox. Two sources, one honest picture.

Coming soonThis is coming soon. Everything else on this page works today — we would rather tell you what is on the way than describe a product you cannot use yet.

Yuki’s Money overview: this month’s spending, a six-month trend and the top spending categories

Most money apps ask you to choose: connect a bank and get balances, or read your email and get context. Yuki does not think that is a choice worth making, because the two sources know genuinely different things.

What each source actually knows

Bank feedYour inbox
Current balanceYesNo
Card payments nobody emails you aboutYesNo
What is about to be charged, and whenNoYes
A price increase, before it landsNoYes
Instalment plans and buy-now-pay-laterPartlyYes
The merchant’s real name, not the card descriptorRarelyYes

This is why Yuki keeps both and reconciles them on read: whichever sources you have switched on, the answer stays correct, and switching one off changes the picture immediately rather than leaving stale rows behind.

Read-only, and revocable

  • Read-only by design — Yuki can see balances and transactions. It cannot move money, make a payment or change anything about the account.
  • You hold the switch — disconnect from the same screen you connected on, and access ends there and then.
  • Bank credentials never reach Yuki — you authenticate with your bank directly; Yuki receives a token, never your login.
  • EU data residency for EU customers — the same commitment as the rest of your data, and no model is trained on any of it.
It works without a bank today. Everything in Finance Home — spending, bills, subscriptions, renewal dates, receipt scanning, statement import — works from your inbox right now, with no bank connected.

Bank sync is coming soon. Your inbox-built finances work today — Yuki is free on iOS and Android.

Frequently asked questions

Is bank connection available yet?
Live bank connections are an Agent capability, coming soon for new customers. Existing authorized Agent users retain supported access. Free and Pro can track finances without connecting a bank; automatic receipt and billing-email sync is a Pro feature. Country, bank and provider support vary.
Why connect a bank if Yuki already reads my receipts?
Because the two see different things. A bank feed knows your balance and every card payment, including the ones nobody emails you about. Your inbox knows what is about to be charged — a renewal in nine days, a price increase, an instalment plan. Neither is complete on its own, so Yuki keeps both and reconciles them.
Will the same payment show up twice?
No. Yuki matches a bank transaction to the receipt that describes it — same merchant, same amount, same few days — and shows one payment with the best detail from each side: the exact amount from the bank, the merchant name and the renewal date from the email. Two sources, one row.
Should I turn off email scanning once my bank is connected?
No, and Yuki will not ask you to. Of a thousand finance records in a typical account, hundreds carry a next-charge date or a billing cycle that a bank feed cannot produce at all — because the email arrives before the charge does. Turning it off would lose the early warning, which is the useful half.
Can this bank connection move money?
No. Open banking here is read-only: balances and transactions, not payment permission. Planned Agent shopping and bill payments are separate capabilities with their own supported providers and explicit approvals. You can revoke the bank connection separately.
