Multi-step timers

Recipes, workouts and routines, one step at a time — with Pro or the Pro trial.

A multi-step timer walks you through a sequence — the steps of a recipe, the rounds of a workout, a study or meditation routine — counting down each step and telling you when the next one starts.

Where to find it

  • On the web — Timers in Home’s Quick links, or New → Timer · Pro.
  • On your phone — Profile → Multi-step timers.
  • From a recipe or a task — Play with a timer · Pro on a recipe’s method, or Turn this task into timed steps · Pro on a task. See Grocery lists.

Create a timer

  1. 1Tap New timer.
  2. 2Describe your timer — “a 20-minute HIIT circuit with four exercises” — and tap Create with AI, or build it yourself.
  3. 3Set the Timer name and Category: recipe, workout, routine, study, meditation or custom.
  4. 4Add each step with a title, optional instructions and its length in seconds. Zero seconds makes a manual step that waits for you to tap Next. Reorder with Move up and Move down; a timer has up to 24 steps.
  5. 5Choose Repeat and the number of Rounds, Auto advance, and Step and completion alerts, then tap Save timer.
Check AI estimates. Durations Yuki suggests are marked Suggested time, and while running, “Suggested duration — check before continuing”. Review them before you rely on them, especially for cooking.

Running a timer

Start a saved timer from Your timers. While it runs you see the Current step and what’s Next up, and can Pause, Skip, go to the Next step, Restart or stop it. Save as template keeps a routine you like; Duplicate makes a copy to change.

Private to you. Your saved timers are private and kept with your account. A running timer counts down on the device or browser tab where you started it; on the web, alerts need the browser open and notifications allowed. A timer doesn’t tick off a task, finish a grocery list or share itself with a group.
